I'm Ellen Archer (she/her), a woman in long-term recovery and a Mind-Body Coach and author of Stay Sober and Save the World the Cave Woman Way. I assist women and non-binary individuals in mastering the art of being human because, let’s face it, we weren't handed an instruction manual.

As humans, we make a lot more sense when we learn to work with all our parts and pieces, including ADHD, which is seriously misunderstood.

You’re in the right place if you’re in recovery and/or have ADHD or are empathic or intuitive and want some guidance to avoid bouncing off the walls in this misinformed world.

I call us High Perceivers.

We already know a lot; we just need some Mind-Body know-how. Basically, what we knew thousands of years ago and lost.

How I met Cave Woman

With only a notebook at hand and raw with prickly emotions, I wondered, If I could talk with anyone who ever existed, who would I choose? I thought of people who lived in healthy communities, who relied on each other’s wisdom and practical know-how. That’s when I opened to a new page and wrote “Dear Cave Woman” for the first time.

I imagined she’d been watching humanity since prehistoric times. I imagined she knew what would set humanity back on the right track. Back to cooperation and kindness as our main social skills. Back to healing from trauma and pain as daily practices. Back to knowing how to live as humans with more creativity, free from abuse.

Being early in recovery, I only managed a few pages of curse words, but I felt a little better. I started to write to Cave Woman more often, and eventually, my journals turned into Stay Sober and Save the World the Cave Woman Way.

We’re all in recovery for something. Recovery needn’t be a slog. Healing can be fun, even hilarious. Cave Woman taught me to lighten up, play more, and find a bit more ease one letter at a time.
